Hines Ward

Professional Football Player

Hines Ward (하인스 워드) is a Wide Receiver for the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers.

He became one of the premier receivers in the NFL with a breakout 2002 season in which he was a league leader in many stat categories. He made the 2003 AFC Pro Bowl team as a reserve after making the 2002 Pro Bowl as an alternate.

He is known for his aggressive and tough play with great possession and blocking skills which makes him very valuable in the Steelers offense.

He was MVP of Super Bowl XL in 2006 (Steelers won the game). His MVP exposure helped lead to renewed discussion in Korea regarding treatment of people with mixed Korean heritage backgrounds.

He played collegiate football at the University of Georgia and was drafted in the 1998 NFL Draft (3rd Round, 92nd Pick).

He was featured in the October 13, 1997 issue of Sports Illustrated regarding his upbringing and relationship with his parents.
