We recently learned about a new documentary film titled Mixed Match that is planned for release in 2013. The film, directed by Jeff Chiba Stearns and produced by Meditating Bunny Studio Inc. and Mixed Marrow, will explore the critical and important issues related to the need for bone marrow and cord blood donors by mixed race people. While the film production has already started, the production team has set up a fundraising website at Indiegogo to help fund the project to completion. Please take a look at this film project and help out however you can, even if only by spreading word about it. About Mixed Match: Mixed Match is an important human story told from the perspective of youth who are forced to discover their identities through their deadly illnesses and how their mixed backgrounds threaten their chances at survival, thus highlighting why in this day and age, race still matters. With the help of Mixed Marrow and first-hand stories from patients and their supporters, we hope to spread awareness about the need for multiethnic donors worldwide.

Victor Cook’s “Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens” to Premiere on Cartoon Network
|
Victor Cook’s new film that he has directed, Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens, is set to premiere later this month on Cartoon Network. It will premiere in Southeast Asia on March 11th and then in the USA on March 23rd at 7pm during Cartoon Network’s “Ben 10 Week.” Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens is a computer-animated science fiction film based on the popular original Ben 10 animated series. Here is the film synopsis (courtesy Cartoon Network Asia): Ten-year-old BEN TENNYSON is finally back from his summer vacation… and his life is mess! Humiliated by his teacher, harassed by bullies, grounded by his parents, upstaged by his cousin, and cursed with a malfunctioning Omnitrix that’s vaporizing his homework, Ben finally gets the opportunity to “get away from it all” when his alien buddy TETRAX (from Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix) offers him the chance of a lifetime: to step up his Omnitrix hero training with a “total alien emersion program” on the far side of the galaxy. But what Ben comes to realize is that “total alien immersion” means he can’t turn human again! Crashing back to Earth and stuck in his alien forms, Ben soon encounters a deadly MECHAMORPH – just like Ben’s UPGRADE alien, but armed with explosive high-tech armor and a single-minded goal to DESTROY ALL ALIENS! As GRANDPA MAX, GWEN and Tetrax race to track him down, Ben’s battle with the Mechamorph takes them to the OMNIVERSE – a strange world that exists within the Omnitrix itself – and a deadly battle with an evil version of Ben’s most powerful alien of all: the hundred-foot-tall WAY BIG! But little does Ben know that neither the Mechamorph nor the Evil Way Big are exactly what they seem! For more on Victor, make sure to check out our HalfKorean.com Interview with Victor Cook from October 2010. Here is a preview of Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens:
