The 2012 Arnold Sports Festival is this weekend and will feature Tanji Johnson and Natalie Pennington competing in their respective divisions. The annual event takes place March 1-4, 2012 in Columbus, Ohio. Tanji will be competing in the 2012 Arnold Fitness International. The Fitness International event is set to take place on Friday, March 2nd with prejudging from noon-2 PM and finals at 7 PM. Tanji is a prominent fitness competitor and has been competing since 1998 and turned pro in 2001. She has competed in eight Arnold Fitness Internationals including finishing runner-up in 2011 and third in 2010. She recently won the 2011 Arnold Fitness Europe championship this past October. The 2012 Fitness International field includes 17 contestants total including last year’s winner. Natalie will be making her first appearance at an Arnold Sports Festival event as she competes in the 2012 Arnold Bikini International. This is the second ever Arnold Bikini International with 2011 being the inaugural year. The Bikini International event is set to take place on Saturday, March 3rd with prejudging from 2-4 PM and finals from 7-10 PM. Natalie has been impressive while still being a relatively newer fitness competitor since gaining her pro card in August 2009. She has competed in the 2011 and 2010 Olympia shows and most recently finished third at the 2011 IFBB Sacramento Pro in November and first at the 2011 IFBB Dallas Europa Super Show in August. 2012 Arnold Sports Festival to Feature Tanji Johnson and Natalie Pennington
Ben Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar at UFC 144

Ben “Smooth” Henderson is scheduled to fight UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar in the main event at UFC 144 this Sunday, February 26, 2012 (Saturday, February 25 in North America) at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. UFC 144 will be televised live via PPV. The former WEC Lightweight Champion has been on a roll since joining UFC after the UFC/WEC merger with victories over Mark Bocek in April 2011, Jim Miller in August 2011 and most recently against Clay Guida in November 2011. The last victory over Guida cemented Henderson’s spot as a top contender for Edgar’s Lightweight Championship and secured the eventual UFC 144 match-up. If Henderson is successful this weekend, he’ll become the second mixed Korean to hold the UFC Lightweight Championship with the first being highly regarded MMA veteran BJ Penn. Safiya Johnson
Safiya Johnson is a professional fitness competitor and model who competes in the bikini division of the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB).
Safiya followed the footsteps of her older sister Tanji, a well regarded veteran professional fitness competitor, into the pro fitness world. Initially, Safiya entered the fitness division and just recently transitioned over to the bikini division.
We were able to discuss with Safiya about her background, being a professional fitness competitor and much more.
