Denis Kang (데니스 강) will be fighting Jesse Taylor in the main event at Battlefield Fight League 8: Island Beatdown on May 28th, 2011 from the Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. Denis fought last month on April 16th in Korea at Road FC 2: Alive. He was victorious with a 3 round unanimous decision over Eun Soo Lee. Hines Ward Wins Dancing With The Stars!

Congratulations to Hines Ward and his dance partner, Kym Johnson, on their Dancing with the Stars season 12 victory! He was one of the most consistent competitors during this season of Dancing with the Stars and was repeatedly commended on his dance skills by the judges. Check out this Hines Ward quote (from ABC.com): Don’t let the smile fool you. I’m in it to win it. I want the hardest choreography so I can come out strong and scare the other competitors. – Hines Ward Hines was definitely “in it to win it.” With his win, he becomes the second football player to win the competition. Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith was the first to do it in season 3. Hopefully this helps Hines get past that Super Bowl loss earlier this year! Let’s see if we’ll see a picture of the Mirror Ball Trophy next to his Super Bowl XL MVP Trophy at some point… An interesting side note from this season is that fellow mixed Korean, Priscilla Ahn, was a guest performer on the May 3rd episode. She performed her single, “Dream.”

Hanmi Amerasians Association of the USA (HAAUSA) is having their 7th annual meeting this Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Shorty Howell Large Pavillion in Duluth, Georgia (near Atlanta). HAAUSA is a fellowship of Korean Amerasians living in the United States. HalfKorean.com is connected with many of the members of this group and they are open for any mixed Koreans to attend their events.
