Tony Akins (전태풍) of KCC Egis in 2011 Korean Basketball League Finals

Tony Akins (전태풍) of the Korean Basketball League’s KCC Egis is currently playing in the 2011 KBL Finals.

Akins and the KCC Egis are facing the Dongbu Promy for the KBL Championship. The best-of-seven Finals currently has Dongbu Promy up 2-1 in the series having beaten KCC Egis, 62-54, this past Wednesday. The first two games were split with Dongbu winning Game 1, 76-71, and KCC Egis taking Game 2, 87-67.

He sustained an ankle injury in the second quarter of Game 3 that kept him out for most of the second half.

Prior to Game 3, he had averaged 12.4 points per game and is an integral part of KCC Egis.

Hopefully he’ll be ready to go for pivotal Game 4 which is scheduled for today, Friday, April 22, 2011 at 5:45PM KST.

We wish Tony much success and hope he’ll be hoisting the KBL Championship very soon!
